All ClimateScale projects have been pre-verified at the industry standard at a minimum. ClimateScale also offers three more stringent verification levels.
Industry Standard Verification: Projects sourced and verified from existing registries or marketplaces that meet their respective standards and criteria.
WSS Standard Verification: Utilizing our Decision Support assessment AI, we thoroughly evaluate projects to ensure they meet ClimateScale's higher standards for environmental impact and integrity.
Satellite Verification: We employ current high-resolution satellite images of project sites to verify project details and monitor progress, adding an extra layer of transparency and accountability.
Expert on Site Verification: Independent auditors/verifiers are dispatched to assess projects on-site, confirming project claims, quality and alignment with sustainability standards. This level of verification ensures the highest level of integrity and impact.

BaumInvest, a forest carbon offset project, has established a reforestation project in Costa Rica, focusing on native tree species. Since 2007, 2,115ha of pastureland has been managed, with 1,280ha of land reforested in mixed forest plantations. Over one million trees have been planted using 17 different tree species amounting to 130.000 VERs capacity.
Additional Project impacts and benefits:
1. BaumInvest's reforestation initiative in Costa Rica integrates noteworthy forest carbon offset project quality standards with a multitude of ecological and socio-economic advantages for the environment and local communities.
2. A nature reserve is established on 25% of the overall project area to safeguard remnant forests and wetlands. These areas serve as biological corridors and natural habitats for numerous endangered species that inhabit the tropical Central America bioregion.3. The "IUCN Red List of Threatened Species" includes numerous species that have been observed in the vicinity of our project area, including Baird's Tapir (Tapirus bairdii), Jaguar (Panthera onca), and Great Green Macaw (Ara ambiguus).
4. The initiative incorporates biodiversity monitoring of amphibians and reptiles as it is possible to readily interpret their current distribution, species composition, and population health at a specific location as indicators of habitat quality and land use compatibility. Since 2009, the amount of species grew from 20 to 89
5. The generation of premium timber contributes to the reduction of Costa Rica's reliance on imported timber and alleviates the urgency to exploit the nation's remaining old-growth rainforests consumption of nutritionally rich fruits, vegetables and ingredients. The team members made a comprehensive presentation to promote and emphasize the importance of dietary variety in order to improve the nutritional quality of their diet and to increase knowledge and education on food preparation.
